It can weigh up to 3.5 pounds (1.5 kg) and grow to be about 3.3 feet (1 m) long from the top of its head to the end of its tail.
• Parrots are threatened: Parrots are one of the most threatened bird species in the world. They lose their habitats when rainforests are cut down to build towns and cities. Many people are working to protect parrots from becoming extinct.
